Melissa Magnuson DVM/Owner

Dr. Melissa Magnuson’s passion for veterinary medicine began in her childhood on a small pig and cattle farm in southern Minnesota, where she developed a deep appreciation for animal care. She earned her undergraduate degree in biology and philosophy from Hamline University in St. Paul before continuing her graduate studies at Southern Mississippi University. In 1998, she achieved her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota.

After completing her veterinary education, Dr. Magnuson pursued a rigorous internship on the East Coast, gaining hands-on experience in small animal medicine, surgery, and emergency care. Over the years, she has honed her skills in surgery, emergency medicine, and the treatment of avian and exotic pets. Her love for the profession is evident in the compassionate, high-quality care she provides every day.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Magnuson enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, Andy, and their three daughters. Their home is filled with beloved pets, including four dogs, three cats, a bird, a bearded dragon, and a guinea pig. Whether biking, hiking, swimming, or curling up with a good book, she cherishes time spent with both her human and animal family.
